Meet Pastor Shane Tyus

About Shane Tyus

Meet our Youth, Young Adult, and Social Media Pastor, Shane Tyus. Shane has been serving at Community Vineyard Church since 2022, when he joined the church as a full-time pastor. He is married to the amazing Bethany Tyus, who serves alongside him in the youth and young adult ministries. Together, they are the joyful parents of three wonderful children — the greatest gifts from God they have ever known!

What Do You Love About Serving?

The most rewarding part of serving in the Kingdom of God for me is being able to come alongside others in their faith journey and watch as God grows and shapes them into the person He sees when He looks at them — their true identity in Christ. To be able to participate in and witness that sacred process of transformation in their hearts, minds, and lives is the fuel behind why I have a passion to serve in the capacity that God has called me to.

What I’d Like You to Know About Me

Who I am today is only by the grace of God. I was a drug user, an atheist, and lost for the majority of my teen years and into my twenties. Then God hijacked me at the age of 25 in my studio apartment with the good news of Jesus Christ. I saw myself crucified with Him and all of my sins taken away in one fell swoop at the cross of Jesus. This led to a new, Spirit-filled life of wonder and joy that I had never before experienced. It also led me to meeting my beautiful wife and being blessed with our three amazing children.

He continued to lead me into a seven-year vocation of chemical dependency treatment as a substance abuse counselor, followed by accepting the call to pastor here at Community Vineyard Church in March of 2022. I am deeply honored and grateful to serve as the Youth and Young

Adult Pastor here, and I accredit it solely to the incredible and constant grace of my Lord Jesus Christ.

Lastly, here are a few things that I thoroughly enjoy: spending time with Jesus, family time with Bethany and the kids, meaningful conversations, bonfires, hikes, playing basketball, concerts, hot wings (lol), throwing down with the youth and young adults, music, worship, and corporately encountering the presence of God.
